After a long period of manufacturing the SFA-1 based on the SFA30, we are now pleased to share our latest formaldehyde sensor: the SFA-40A, manufactured using the SFA40. We have tested it extensively and made numerous optimisations to minimise thermal interference from the ESP32 as much as possible, whilst also designing sufficient ventilation holes to capture more air.
It features a simple casing and our usual user-friendly setup system, allowing you to adjust the formaldehyde reporting settings (including the minimum reporting interval and the threshold for immediate reporting based on the difference between two formaldehyde readings), and we have added an alarm threshold.
As the SFA30 has become difficult to source and costs have risen significantly, we will likely phase out the SFA-1 gradually.
If this is your first SCREEK sensor, here is the information regarding network configuration: The device communicates with Home Assistant via Wi-Fi. The default setup method is via a hotspot. Once the sensor is powered on, it will broadcast a hotspot named SFA-SENSOR SFA-40A. Connect to this hotspot using your phone or computer; the setup page (http://192.168.4.1) will usually appear automatically. If it doesn’t, you can open the page manually. Select the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network on the same network as your Home Assistant (HA), enter the password, and click ‘Save’. Next, simply wait for the device to appear in HA; you do not need to download any add-ons, nor do you need ESPHome Device Builder.
We hope you enjoy using these sensors. We love seeing them work their magic, integrating seamlessly into our daily lives and helping us better understand our environment at all times through the HA hub.
