In one of our long-term tests, we observed that the readings from the SFA-1 (SFA30) fluctuated periodically, whilst those from the SFA40 remained virtually unchanged.
An interesting little oversight arose when we placed an electric mosquito repellent next to the products under test; it was set to switch on at 13:00, 14:00, 17:00 and 18:00. (As we do not use fly screens, we wanted to make mosquitoes feel unwelcome at fixed times without leaving the device on all day.)
It is interesting to note from the readings that the SFA-40A (SFA40) was hardly affected by these fluctuations.
Perhaps the SFA-40 has a specially formulated electrolyte solution? Making its interference capabilities superior?
This could explain why the SFA-1 (SFA30) is more reactive; it is more susceptible to the influence of scented vapours. Of course, these readings remain low and are well within safe limits.
