We designed a new housing for LYWSD03MMC - experimentally, it has the two AAA batteries that everyone suggests, in which case the battery capacity extends. According to the theory, this boosts the original capacity of 200mah (max) to 1000mah-1200mah, which would be a 5-6 times increase.
Sounds pretty crazy, we want to keep the case as simple as possible, in keeping with the original style.
This way we have it:
- AAA battery power, theoretically over 2 years (reality may hardly be entirely ideal, and may exceed the theoretical value, with average power consumption at 25ua at 10 second measurement intervals, the calculated theoretical time is over 4 years - but I guess such theories are often hardly reliable.)
- ZigbeeTLC firmware, we tested it for more than 2 months, and they are functioning very stable, especially after the recent 0.2.0 firmware, and the power consumption has improved. We have trimmed the firmware a bit and simplified some parts.
- Comes with a display, but compact.
- Of course it's also possible to use the BLE open source firmware and communicate directly with HA using the BTHome protocol. That way.
